MISSION JAMAICA
2025 HURRICANE MELISSA UPDATES
Please pray for our partners and their recovery—physically, mentally, and spiritually. The destruction has been major, and rebuilding and healing will take time.
All financial donations will help our Mission Jamaica partners rebuild and recover. Funds will put roofs back on buildings, provide essentials like food, water, hygiene items, and fuel, and help restock chickens at Westhaven. Your gift, no matter the size, brings hope and makes a real difference.
We plan to have Mission Jamaica teams returning in January. Trips will be confirmed once lodging is secured.
Follow them on Facebook for the latest updates or check out our brochure below.
Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the father sent me, so I send you.”
John 20:21
Mission Jamaica brings hope to communities across Jamaica by sharing supplies, skills, and medical expertise during several mission trips each year.
Mission Jamaica trips combine a week-long service project with time for spiritual reflection and rest. Those serving experience an international mission field close to home while immersed in another culture. You’ll love and serve your neighbor, as Jesus taught through His example.
2025 RECAP
At the close of the 2025 season (January–April), we served with 400+ Mission Jamaica missionaries! Other highlights:
- Eleven JaBode family homes were built.
- Our teams provided healthcare for 1,300+ patients during five weeks of mobile medical clinics.
- Teams also served several weeks at West Haven Children’s Home, caring for residents and building and maintaining structures.
- A long list of maintenance projects were completed at Garland Hall, Montego Bay.
- A week in Kingston at Hope Valley Experimental School and Callaloo Mews Basic School was a highlight for those teams.
- A laundry room was added to the dorm at Spring Village, Kingston.
- First time church teams and groups joined this season.
- Funds were raised to purchase much needed hygiene items, cleaning supplies, clothing, and bedding for our partners.
- We saw and felt God working through all of us!
STAFF CONTACTS
MISSIONS & OUTREACH PASTOR
Michael Jordan
Pastor Michael Jordan grew up in Hibbing, Minnesota, and moved to the Twin Cities to attend the U of M, where he earned his B.S. in Physics. Soon after graduation, he served as Youth Director at Roseville Lutheran Church. While in that role, he began pursuing his MDiv from Luther Seminary. His two degrees may seem disparate, but he says that science helped explain "how" the world works, and faith explains "why." Prior to coming to St. Andrew’s, Pastor Jordan served as Associate Pastor at Trinity Lutheran in Yankton, SD.
Michael is an avid outdoorsman and camp enthusiast, perhaps because he met the love of his life (wife Megan Moroff) while working as a summer camp counselor. In the Fall of 2025, they bought their first home in Maplewood, giving their beloved rescue pup Rosie a new yard to explore. He also enjoys traveling (helpful, considering missions is half his new role), playing board games, camping, watching Survivor, cheering on the Atlanta Falcons, and trying to spend as much time in, on, or near water as possible. Fun fact: Michael went skydiving for his 18th birthday. He says, “It was thrilling to jump out of a plane 14,000 feet above the ground and be in total free fall for over a minute.”
