CLIMATE CHANGE & WHY IT MATTERS TO CHRISTIANS

May 6 @ 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm
Dr. Mark Seeley will share the relevance of faith perspectives to our understanding and concern for the Earth’s climate system. He brings together two essential themes: scientific knowledge to grasp what’s happening and faith mandate to be stewards of God’s gifts, including the world we live in. Stewardship, a value shared across religions, provides common ground to discuss climate change and what to do about it.
Dr. Seeley is a climatologist and meteorologist who retired after 40 years on the faculty in the University of Minnesota’s Department of Soil, Water, and Climate. He is widely known for his weekly weather and climate commentaries (since 1992) on Minnesota Public Radio’s Morning Edition program. A frequent speaker, consultant, and author, he has participated in thousands of speaking engagements, interviews, and public events, including sharing his expertise on climate and agricultural production.
