CANCER CONNECT – FALL/WINTER

If you are a cancer survivor, caregiver, or have a loved-one with cancer, we welcome you to join us for fellowship. This group will be facilitated by Micki Smith, a member of our congregation who has traveled a cancer journey of her own. In 2016 Micki was diagnosed with Stage 3B Appendiceal Cancer and subsequently went through surgery and extensive chemotherapy. She is very grateful to be alive today. During her journey, Micki was able to connect with someone else with cancer. Together they walked with Christ, and were able to provide each other much-needed comfort and support. In Micki’s own words “God nudged me to help connect with others confronted with cancer–both survivors and caregivers. My desire is to offer fellowship which will be centered around God’s love and support for us.”

Cancer Connect will be co-facilitated by Jocelyn Gorham, Faith Community Nurse. She has had personal experience as the primary caregiver for a family member diagnosed with cancer. This support group is offered both in-person and via Zoom.
