St. Andrew’s Family Shelter in Hugo

We are excited to announce that we are one step closer to ending homelessness for families in Washington County. We know the need is great and we are responding to that need by opening a new family shelter in Hugo. We will extend our reach to serve our neighbors in the northern end of Washington County with our new shelter at St. Genevieve Catholic Church.  Details here …


clotheslineClothesline Clothing Distribution – A free clothing resource for families and individuals in school districts 832, 624 and 622.  No appointment necessary. Shopping hours Monday through Thursday,  9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m..

Emergency shelter is provided to families in Washington County and suburban Ramsey County residents. We provide off-site shelter with direct and ongoing case management services until stable housing is achieved. Call our help line to schedule an intake appointment: 651.762.9124

Rental assistance is provided to prevent an episode of homelessness for qualified families living in zip codes 55001, 55003, 55016, 55038, 55042, 55043, 55047, 55055, 55071, 55082, 55083, 55090, 55109, 55110, 55115, 55117, 55119, 55125, 55127, 55128, 55129, 55130. Call to verify qualifications and to schedule an appointment.

Employment mentoring is a three-stage mentoring service for those who are either unemployed or under-employed. Identify your skill sets, receive help writing a resume, getting interviews, and practice interview skills. Call 651.762.9158 to get connected with an employment mentor.CRC family on playround 2

Food Kits. If you have visited your food shelf in the past 30 days and need additional help putting meals on the table, you are welcome to come into the Community Resource Center anytime during business hours. No appointment necessary.

Basic needs items are available to people who are struggling to purchase cleaning supplies, diapers, shampoo, razors, deodorant, and other personal hygiene items. No appointment necessary.

Counseling referrals. Heidi Lender  joined St. Andrew’s in January 2017 as a half-time Resource Counselor. The resource counselor is an outgrowth of the strategic initiative that the Church Council set forth last spring that states: “We will provide resources for those broken by life’s circumstances.” This half-time position that will help members of St. Andrew’s and the community find appropriate counseling resources. Heidi will also be providing periodic educational opportunities about mental health issues such as depression, anxiety and coping with stress. Contact Heidi at 

Computer access is available for job/housing searches during our business hours. All are welcome.

Connection to other resources is our highest priority if there is a need that we cannot accommodate. Please call for information: 651.762.9124

Spiritual guidance is available for those wanting to meet with a pastor. Either call or come in to arrange a meeting.
