“Dare Mighty Things”
NEW DATES: June 15-19, 2020
An online, at-home experience!
(St. Andrew’s will not be providing an in-person Confirmation Camp this summer.)
“Dare Mighty Things” dives into stories of people from the Bible that dared mighty things and how we can all be mighty today! We’ll use a blend of prerecorded videos and interactive platforms (such as Zoom) to create an experience that will connect us to each other and to God. Campers will be able to participate in interactive morning worship, engage in small group Bible studies, participate in house games and large group games, and, of course, enjoy evening campfires each night.
Each camper will receive “Camp in a Box” delivered to your home the weekend prior, filled with all you’ll need to join the camp experience from your home!
Daily Schedule: While we can’t completely replace a day at camp, we’ve planned a number of activities to be connected, experience faith, and have fun!
10 a.m.: All-Camp Worship (interactive worship on Zoom)
10:50 a.m.: Cabin Bible Studies (meet in small groups after worship to talk about the day’s theme)
11:30 a.m.: Daring Activities (choose activities on your own or log-in for optional group activities, such as Virtual Gaga Ball or mystery hikes)
7 p.m.: Crossfire Events (fun important life skills, like painting with Bob Ross)
8 p.m.: Campfire Worship (gather around a candle, fireplace, or fire for evening worship)
9 p.m.: Cabin Devotions & Lights Out (close out the day with “highs and lows” in cabin groups)
Age: Confirmation Camp is open to middle school youth completing grades 6-8.
High school youth (completing grades 9-12) are also welcome to participate as small group leaders. Contact Josh Carlson at firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
Cost: $30 per middle school participant. Scholarships are available by contacting Mary Post at email@example.com prior to registration. There is no cost for high school leaders.
Registration: Please register by June 8 to help us plan for “Camp in a Box” supplies and assign small groups.
St. Andrew’s is suspending all in-person summer events and overnight trips for children and youth through August. Our team is excited to shape new and creative ways to connect with, serve, and support families in the months ahead – whether online, at a distance, at home, or in-person when it’s deemed safe to do so. Stay tuned!
