SUMMARY:ANIMAL ANGELS THERAPY DOG TRAINING 2025-2026
DESCRIPTION:Animal Angels training is for adults and therapy dogs who wish to visit care facilities\, hospitals\, schools\, libraries\, shelters\, and hospice partners in the metro area\, primarily Washington County. Training is open to any dog owner willing to commit to at least one hour per month visit in the following year\, plus attending monthly in-service meetings (September through May) during the first year of service. The training class includes: \n\n\n\n\nPreparation for the national Therapy Dog Registration test.\n\n\n\nCoverage of facility requirements\, aging and illness\, and conversational skills for a respectful and meaningful visit.There is no charge for the training\, though therapy dog registration organizations charge a nominal testing fee ($10) and an annual registration fee (approximately $50) that includes insurance coverage. DESCRIPTION:Growing Through Loss is an opportunity to receive grief support and learn more about grief in a group setting\, at no charge. Each night includes a brief presentation by a grief educator\, followed by small group time focused on particular kinds of losses. Attend a single night or the whole series (September 23-October 28).
