SUMMARY:ANIMAL ANGELS THERAPY DOG TRAINING
DESCRIPTION:Animal Angels training is for adults and therapy dogs who wish to visit care facilities\, hospitals\, schools\, libraries\, shelters\, and hospice partners in the metro area\, primarily Washington County. Training is open to any dog owner willing to commit to at least one hour per month visit in the following year\, plus attending monthly in-service meetings (September through May) during the first year of service. The training class includes: \n\n\n\n\nPreparation for the national Therapy Dog Registration test.\n\n\n\nCoverage of facility requirements\, aging and illness\, and conversational skills for a respectful and meaningful visit.There is no charge for the training\, though therapy dog registration organizations charge a nominal testing fee ($10) and an annual registration fee (approximately $50) that includes insurance coverage. DESCRIPTION:St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church offers an in-person\, facilitated support group for those experiencing the loss of loved ones. The group gives members an opportunity to share\, listen\, and support each other to move toward healing. The group will be facilitated by a St. Andrew’s Pastor or Care Lay Minister in the Dot Room of the Great Hall. You can join the group at any time during the 8-week session. There is no cost to attend. To learn more about the group please contact Lisa Grundtner. \n\n\n\nMeeting in the Great Hall Dot Room every other Thursday evening from 4:30-6pm\, September 5 through December 19\, 2024. \n\n\n\nOn December 19 there will be a special Advent Candlelight Remembrance to conclude this series of meetings.

Dinner is available 4:45-6:15pm in the Sanctuary Fellowship Hall. All are welcome! NEW FALL 2024: We’re piloting a “pay-as-you’re able” plan for dinner. Suggested donation is $4-6 for children (ages 3 and up) and $6-8 for adults. Cash\, check\, debit/credit cards\, and Apple Pay are accepted. VOLUNTEER! We can use your help! SUMMARY:CRC THANKSGIVING FOOD GIVEAWAY
DESCRIPTION:Each year St. Andrew’s Community Resource Center (CRC) hosts a Thanksgiving food giveaway for local families in need. We provide turkey and all the fixings for a bountiful meal. Last year we gave Thanksgiving meals to approximately 150 families who had received services from the CRC\, the Mahtomedi Food Shelf\, the North St. Paul Food Shelf\, and families referred by the Mahtomedi School District social worker. Volunteers are needed on Wednesday\, November 20 to help with set-up. Volunteers are also needed on Thursday\, November 21 from 8:30am-4pm to help distribute food to our guests. Learn about Christianity in its early centuries. We visit the amazing ruins of Pompeii\, marvel at the beauty of the Amalfi Coast\, and discover the ancient Roman civilization. Special visits to a winery and farm provide opportunities to enjoy and learn about Italian cuisine. Like ancient Christians before us\, we worship \, eat\, laugh\, and experience the joy of Christian community together.This custom-designed travel experience of 12 days and 10 nights takes place when temperatures are cooler and crowds are moderate.
