Singers and musicians of all skill levels\, select this track to be instructed by our own resident musicians Andy Haase and Bill Chouinard. Weekly on Sunday morning\, you will learn new music together with your peers and work toward performing live during our Affirmation of Baptism service. It’s always a joy to sing together and honor God through praise and worship\, especially when you get to do it with your peers in a safe environment. SUMMARY:ANIMAL ANGELS THERAPY DOG TRAINING
DESCRIPTION:Animal Angels training is for adults and therapy dogs who wish to visit care facilities\, hospitals\, schools\, libraries\, shelters\, and hospice partners in the metro area\, primarily Washington County. Training is open to any dog owner willing to commit to at least one hour per month visit in the following year\, plus attending monthly in-service meetings (September through May) during the first year of service. The training class includes: \n\n\n\n\nPreparation for the national Therapy Dog Registration test.\n\n\n\nCoverage of facility requirements\, aging and illness\, and conversational skills for a respectful and meaningful visit.There is no charge for the training\, though therapy dog registration organizations charge a nominal testing fee ($10) and an annual registration fee (approximately $50) that includes insurance coverage. SUMMARY:CANCER CONNECT - FALL/WINTER
DESCRIPTION:If you are a cancer survivor\, caregiver\, or have a loved-one with cancer\, we welcome you to join us for fellowship. This group will be facilitated by Micki Smith\, a member of our congregation who has traveled a cancer journey of her own. In 2016 Micki was diagnosed with Stage 3B Appendiceal Cancer and subsequently went through surgery and extensive chemotherapy. She is very grateful to be alive today. During her journey\, Micki was able to connect with someone else with cancer. Together they walked with Christ\, and were able to provide each other much-needed comfort and support. In Micki’s own words “God nudged me to help connect with others confronted with cancer–both survivors and caregivers. My desire is to offer fellowship which will be centered around God’s love and support for us.” \n\n\n\nCancer Connect will be co-facilitated by Jocelyn Gorham\, Faith Community Nurse. She has had personal experience as the primary caregiver for a family member diagnosed with cancer. DESCRIPTION:SMALL GROUP RELATIONAL TRACK\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOur Small Group Relational track is for students excited to have weekly discussions about their lives and their faith. Led by our trained upperclassmen Peer Ministers\, this track will involve fun\, fellowship\, and feasting on the Word of God! Each week we will come together to check in with each other\, study the bible\, discuss our lives and what Jesus tells us about how to navigate through easy and difficult times\, and join together in some fun through weekly activities and games. Students should choose this track if they are interested in committing to being part of a small group through May. Our hopes for this track is that students will find a support group that helps them navigate the difficulties of freshman year of high school and forms relationships that will last a lifetime. \n\n\n\n\nSchedule: Wednesday evenings from 6:30 – 8:00 in the Youth & Sports Center\, Sept 18\, 25\, Oct 2\, 9\, and then all following program-Wednesdays through May.\n\n\n\nFinal Project: Write a faith essay on why community is important for Christians.
