SUMMARY:CANCER CONNECT - WINTER/SPRING 2026
DESCRIPTION:This group is for cancer survivors\, caregivers\, or those who have a loved one dealing with cancer. You can join a new group anytime! All are welcome\, not just those who attend St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church. (Masks required to protect the immunocompromised.) Group Facilitator Micki Smith has traveled a cancer journey of her own. After Micki was diagnosed in 2016\, she had surgery and was treated with chemotherapy. During her journey\, Micki bonded with another cancer patient and they were able to provide each other much-needed comfort and support. This support group is offered in-person and via Zoom. One-on-one sessions available upon request.

DESCRIPTION:St. Croix Valley Grief Coalition – Spring 2026 Grief Support Series\n\n\n\n\n\nGrowing Through Loss is an opportunity to receive grief support and learn more about grief in a group setting\, free of charge. Each night includes a brief presentation by a grief educator\, followed by small group time focused on particular kinds of losses. Attend a single night or the whole series. Each session is complete in itself. No need to register\, we have a place for you here. SUMMARY:FIRST COMMUNION SKIPPING STONE WORKSHOP & CELEBRATION - SPRING 2026
DESCRIPTION:Our Skipping Stones ministry celebrates six significant moments in a child’s journey of life and faith\, starting with baptism and continuing through high school graduation. Just as stones skip across water\, creating ripples at various points\, our young people experience God’s grace breaking into their lives at different times and places. First Communion instruction is provided as an opportunity for children to learn more about Holy Communion and prepare them to receive it. Students in Grades 1-5 participate in a workshop with at least one parent. Then their First Communion is acknowledged and blessed during a worship service. Two opportunities are provided each year—in the fall and in the spring (during Holy Week).

DESCRIPTION:The one-hour interactive workshop via Zoom covers what baptism is\, what it means for you and/or your child\, tips for raising a family of faith\, and what the day of baptism will look like. \n\n\n\nThe class will cover: What baptism means in the Lutheran tradition\, how to prepare for your child’s baptism\, what to expect on the day of their baptism\, godparents and how to select them\, nurturing faith at home beyond your child’s baptism day\, and more! You’ll have the opportunity to connect with other St. Andrew’s families\, and have any of your remaining questions about baptism answered. \n\n\n\nPlease gather these items and have them nearby at the Zoom meeting: A “faith object” (for show-and-tell)— something in your home that reminds you of your faith or helps you practice your faith\, a small bowl of water (for a blessing)\, and a Bible (you can Google for our readings if you don’t have a Bible available). \n\n\n\nYour children are more than welcome to join us during the meeting\, but they are not required to be present. We understand that some of you will need to move on-and-off-screen to tend to the needs of your little ones during our time together.
