DESCRIPTION:Thursday at 7:00 p.m. \n\n\n\nThe one-hour interactive workshop via Zoom covers what baptism is\, what it means for you and/or your child\, tips for raising a family of faith\, and what the day of baptism will look like. \n\n\n\nThe class will cover: What baptism means in the Lutheran tradition\, how to prepare for your child’s baptism\, what to expect on the day of their baptism\, godparents and how to select them\, nurturing faith at home beyond your child’s baptism day\, and more! You’ll have the opportunity to connect with other St. Andrew’s families\, and have any of your remaining questions about baptism answered. \n\n\n\nPlease gather these items and have them nearby at the Zoom meeting: A “faith object” (for show-and-tell)— something in your home that reminds you of your faith or helps you practice your faith\, a small bowl of water (for a blessing)\, and a Bible (you can Google for our readings if you don’t have a Bible available). \n\n\n\nYour children are more than welcome to join us during the meeting\, but they are not required to be present. We understand that some of you will need to move on-and-off-screen to tend to the needs of your little ones during our time together. This group will be facilitated by Micki Smith\, a member of our congregation who has traveled a cancer journey of her own. In 2016 Micki was diagnosed with Stage 3B Appendiceal Cancer and subsequently went through surgery and extensive chemotherapy. She is very grateful to be alive today. During her journey\, Micki was able to connect with someone else with cancer. Together they walked with Christ\, and were able to provide each other much-needed comfort and support. In Micki’s own words “God nudged me to help connect with others confronted with cancer–both survivors and caregivers. My desire is to offer fellowship which will be centered around God’s love and support for us.” \n\n\n\nThis support group is offered both in-person and via Zoom. \n\n\n\nPlease contact Micki Smith at 763.913.4048 with questions. \n\n\n\nRegistration is requested.
