SUMMARY:MIDDLE SCHOOL SERVICE LEARNING TRIP NORTH SHORE
DESCRIPTION:Let’s serve\, learn\, and have a blast together!This summer\, we are partnering with Service Learning Camps to create a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our YOU! We’ll travel to the Minnesota North Shore to explore\, do service projects alongside community members\, and make life-long friends! After spending the days at our service sites\, we will spend each evening doing fun activities\, playing games\, and worshipping together. We will be staying at a camp with bunks\, showers\, and more. It’s going to be awesome! We leave Sunday morning\, August 4th\, and we will return the evening of Wednesday\, August 7th. Sign up today\, invite a friend or two\, and get excited to make new friends as we travel\, explore\, and serve together this summer!  \n\n\n\nAges/Grades: For youth completed Grades 6-8. \n\n\n\nCost: $425 per person. This amount is significantly reduced from the true cost thanks to the generosity of church members who support youth ministries. Financial assistance is available for additional support.  You can make a down payment of $150. To do so\, click the + sign in the box under event fees and then uncheck remaining balance box. \n\n\n\nFinancial assistance is available. To waive the fee\, enter “WAIVE” in the code box on the registration form. If you can pay half\, please enter “HALF” and the fee will be reduced by 50%.. DESCRIPTION:Thursday at 7:00 p.m. \n\n\n\nThe one-hour interactive workshop via Zoom covers what baptism is\, what it means for you and/or your child\, tips for raising a family of faith\, and what the day of baptism will look like. \n\n\n\nThe class will cover: What baptism means in the Lutheran tradition\, how to prepare for your child’s baptism\, what to expect on the day of their baptism\, godparents and how to select them\, nurturing faith at home beyond your child’s baptism day\, and more! You’ll have the opportunity to connect with other St. Andrew’s families\, and have any of your remaining questions about baptism answered. \n\n\n\nPlease gather these items and have them nearby at the Zoom meeting: A “faith object” (for show-and-tell)— something in your home that reminds you of your faith or helps you practice your faith\, a small bowl of water (for a blessing)\, and a Bible (you can Google for our readings if you don’t have a Bible available). \n\n\n\nYour children are more than welcome to join us during the meeting\, but they are not required to be present. We understand that some of you will need to move on-and-off-screen to tend to the needs of your little ones during our time together. We are so grateful for this opportunity to gather in whatever way is best for your family! \n\n\n\nPlease note\, a Zoom link will be emailed to you 2-3 days before the workshop.
