DESCRIPTION:If you are a cancer survivor\, caregiver\, or have a loved-one with cancer\, we welcome you to join us for fellowship. This group will be facilitated by Micki Smith\, a member of our congregation who has travelled a cancer journey of her own. In 2016 Micki was diagnosed with Stage 3B Appendiceal Cancer and subsequently went through surgery and extensive chemotherapy. She is very grateful to be alive today. During her journey\, Micki was able to connect with someone else with cancer. Together they walked with Christ\, and were able to provide each other much needed comfort and support. In Micki’s own words “God nudged me to help connect with others confronted with cancer–both survivors and caregivers. My desire is to offer fellowship which will be centered around God’s love and support for us.”

Each night includes a brief presentation by a grief expert\, followed by small group time focused on particular kinds of losses. Topics range from “The Anatomy of Grief\, Finding Peace and Purpose in Grief\, Resiliency and Hope in Loss\, Watching for the Signs of Grief\, Grief Through a Family Lens\, and The Transformative Nature of Grief.” \n\n\n\nNo need to register! Attend a single night or the whole series. Each session is complete in itself. DESCRIPTION:Winter/Spring Session 2024 \n\n\n\nSt. Andrew’s Lutheran Church is offering an in-person\, facilitated support group for those who are experiencing the loss of loved ones. The hope for the group is that members will have an opportunity to share\, listen\, and support each other toward healing. The group will be facilitated by a St. Andrew’s pastor or Care Lay Minister. Meetings will be held in St. Andrew’s Great Hall building in the Dot Room – Thursday evenings from 4:30-6:00 p.m. – from Feb. 1 through Mar. 28\, 2024.
