The theme to guide our exploration is “Religious Art\, Culture\, and Cuisine.” Discover the rich history and religious art of Florence\, Assisi\, and Rome. In Florence\, you’ll explore iconic landmarks like the Duomo and Michelangelo’s statue\, David. In the quiet hilltop town of Assisi\, visit the magnificent Basilica of St. Francis. The Basilica serves not only as a place of pilgrimage and worship—the artwork also vividly narrates St. Francis’ story and serves as a testament to his life and legacy. The beauty of Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast will awe you as you taste local farm fresh foods and wines\, followed by a visit to the ancient ruins of Pompeii. Three nights in Rome provide the opportunity to view the beautiful art of St. Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Museums. Learn the history of Mamertine Prison\, where it’s thought that the Apostles Peter and Paul were imprisoned.
