Middle School Ministry

Our Mission

Youth Ministry at St. Andrew’s is…a community of young people who are living lives of love, discipleship and service through the grace of Jesus Christ.

CrossPower Confirmation
Orientation (7th & 8th Grade)
Wednesday, Sept. 8, 5 to 6 p.m. in the Great Hall

This is a time when we gather to officially open up our time together in Confirmation.  We will go over the expectations of the ministry, what being confirmed is all about for the youth and for the family.  This Orientation is for youth in 7th and 8th grade and their parents.  If you went last year and think, I don’t need to go again….. well think again!  We have new and exciting twists to the ministry that everyone will want to know.  If you are in MS choir, then please go to choir and parents should attend Orientation.

CrossWinds Confirmation Orientation (6th grade)
Wednesday, Sept. 8, 6:45 to 8 p.m. in the Great Hall
This is your first year in Confirmation and we want to start it off with a bang! We will gather in the Great Hall to begin this Faith Skipping Stone in Worship.  Then we will answer every question you have about this ministry, the expectations, the retreats and the faith transformation that will happen.

CrossRoads Confirmation Orientation (9th grade)
Wednesday, Sept. 8, 6:45 to 8 p.m. in the Sanctuary
Youth are now entering into their final stage of Confirmation.  In a few short months they will make their public affirmation of their faith and complete this Faith Skipping Stone.  In order to kick the this session of right we need to meet to go over all the many details about the retreat, the interviews, the robes, stoles, and Worship Service.

CrossWinds Kick-Off
Friday, Sept. 17, 7 to 9:30 p.m. & Saturday, Sept. 10, 9 a.m. to noon at the Youth & Sports Center
We take Friday night and Saturday morning to bring the group together as one class.  Large group games, songs, food, and fellowship will be the general focus of this Christ-centered time. Our pastor of Children, Youth and Family, along with the Youth Team will lead activities to bond our group.

L.E.A.D. Conference
Sept 11,9:00-3:00 in the Great Hall
This is for all people who are Living Everyday As Disciples and are leading ministry with youth and young people.  All Confirmation Leaders (High School and Adults) are asked to attend.  In the morning we will join other leaders of St. Andrew’s and hear special guest, Lyle Griner- a nationally known speaker on forming relationships based on faith.  After a delicious lunch we will break up into groups to go over the ministries we will be leading this year.  Please register online or with any of the Youth Team.

Wednesday Night Activities
2:45-6:45 p.m. in the Gym, Pier 7, Community Room and the Great Hall. All activities free of charge.
The Youth and Sport Center will offer space for homework, gym time, organized games, outdoor games (when weather allows), and a movie room as options for relaxing or burning off some energy after the school day. New this year:  Youth will be asked to check-in and out at the doors of the buildings so we are better able to minister with the youth.

CHOICES Family Blast – What is Family?

Sunday, Sept. 12, 6 to7:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary

Who is my family? What does it mean to be part of God’s family? Bring your family and friends to hear critically acclaimed local speaker, Danielle Tietjen, speak about what family might look like and what it means to be family. Danielle will share some of her personal experiences with family. We might not be able to choose our families, but God has chosen us to be part of His family.
