St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church Benevolence Giving Policy

We the congregation of St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, an ELCA congregation, as disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, enthusiastically embrace the call of mission as a fundamental tenet of our ministry to serve others in Christ’s name. We seek to engage the gifts and passions of our members, as well as, encourage benevolent giving to support a variety of mission work outside our own congregation.
Objectives of St. Andrew’s Program
St. Andrew’s will evenly distribute its benevolent giving to mission work in three general areas:
- Local – East Metro metropolitan area (grant size $1,500-$10,000)
- National – United States (grant size $5,000 - $25,000)
- International – Outside the United States (grant size $5,000-$25,000)
Primary consideration is given to requests that exhibit a clear purpose and defined need to serve in Christ’s name to one of the following areas of focus:
- Evangelism
- Homelessness
- Hunger
- Children and Families in Crisis
- Adults in Transition or Crisis
- Communities in Crisis
St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church Benevolence Giving program will not provide funding for:
- Political organizations or organizations designed primarily to lobby
- Individuals
- Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, religion, creed, gender, age,
- veteran status, physical challenge or national origin.
